UGoveRN Space+Society Chapter is initiated by Dr. Igor Pessoa Tempels and Sofia Bittencourt in January 2021. Space+Society Chapter members see space as a social construct and explore the built environment as a symbiotic product of the interaction between people and space. They develop their work to understand this complex dynamic through a critical lens. They look into a wide range of themes and challenges that are vital for cities as well as challenge the governance of cities like diversity, inequality, urban commons, feminist urban theory, gentrification, affordability, right to the city, participation and co-production, and sustainability transitions.
